Calling all kids! Here’s your chance to be a superhero! Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF 2014 gives you a unique opportunity to help other children in need. Instead of asking for candies and treats, you can collect money in a special Trick-or-Treat box as you go door-to-door this Halloween.
The Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF Superheroes Campaign was launched in SM Southmall last October 4, 2014 and featured fun games, exciting activities and a special performance from UNICEF National Ambassador Gary Valenciano.
UNICEF partners with Toy Kingdom to jumpstart this year’s campaign on emergency preparedness. We all know that the Philippines is prone to typhoons and other natural disasters, and the most affected part of the population are the children. The money raised through Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF helps ensure that essential supplies like water kits, hygiene kits, education kits, and temporary learning and play spaces are made available to children after a disaster hits.
To participate in this campaign, children – with their parent or guardian – can register and claim their free donation kit at any Toy Kingdom branch nationwide until October 31, 2014 or until supplies last. After trick-or-treating for UNICEF, turn over the donation to any SM Bill Payment counter located in SM Department Store, SM Supermarket, SM Hypermarket and Savemore locations anywhere in the Philippines. Children who turn in their donations before November 30, 2014 will receive a special certificate of appreciation from UNICEF.
A Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF donation kit contain the following: a Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF brochure, a Trick-or-Treat Collection Box, a Trick-or-Treat Badge and a Trick-or-Treat Superhero Mask.
Create Your Own Superhero Contest
Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF is also holding an online Create-Your-Own-Superhero Contest. Children aged 4 to 12 years old and residing in the Philippines will design their superhero on a blank Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF box to win prizes.
Joining is easy! Kids – with their parent or guardian – must download the contest forms and read the full mechanics at www.unicef.ph. This contest runs from October 4 to October 26, 2014. Winners will be notified via email and SMS.
