Technology has given us so many benefits. One of them is telecommuting or working from home. A person only needs a computer and Internet access to earn a living without leaving home. I am a WAHM or a work-at-home mom. I have been working from home for three years now as a project manager and as an online writing tutor.
Working from home is not easy. It takes a great deal of self-discipline to work on time, stay focused at work, avoid distractions at work and accomplish everything I need to do each day.
But working from home has its perks, too. First, I get to see what my son and his nanny are doing the whole day. Because I’m always at home, I don’t have to constantly worry about my son’s well-being.
Another benefit of working from home is I get to save money on food, clothes and transportation. I don’t need to spend extra bucks for my lunch or snacks because there is food at home for everyone. I also don’t need to spend on work clothes because I don’t work in an office that requires proper business attire for its employees. I also save a lot on transportation costs because I don’t need to drive to and from work, which requires gas money.
As you can seee, the pros of working from home definitely outweigh the cons. I truly enjoy being a WAHM, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
