Ipanema Collaborates with Five Filipino Designers for the Philippine Fashion Week

I never say no to an Ipanema event. That’s because I love this popular Italian footwear brand so much. Even if I was busy at work, my sister and I would not miss seeing Ipanema’s Spring-Summer 2012 collection at the recently held Philippine Fashion Week.

Designers Anthony Nocom, Lyle Ibañez, Catherine Cavilte, Dave Ocampo and Raoul Ramirez joined forces with Ipanema to showcase their 2012 Resort Wear last Saturday, October 29, 5:30pm at Function Room 4 of the SMX Convention Center.

Gone were those days when flip-flops were just worn exclusively with bikinis and board shorts. Now, these humble rubber slippers are finding their way into malls, offices and elsewhere because of their quality, comfort and versatility.

Ipanema Managing Director Patxi Elizalde says, “The heart and core of the Ipanema brand is its rich Brazilian heritage. With this in mind, it aims to offer young fashionistas a diversity of flip-flop styles that are not just fit for the beach, but also for a variety of occasions—whether it’s a chic day trip with friends or a stylish evening out with someone special.”
